I just finished my 50 hour service and have a problem lining up the cross bored holes in the plug/filter with the pickup tube. Can I add a brass washer to shim things out? I'm over 6', 200+ pounds and I thought I was going to shear things off before I got the damned thing apart. I've torqued the filter/plug down to 150# and need another quarter turn before all the holes line up. Any ideas? Both the HST transmission screen and the hydro screen miss lining up by a quarter of a turn. Backing them off a quarter turn lines everything up but is not much more than finger tight. Thanks in advance. If all else fails I see the dealer.

Well I broke down and talked to my dealer. Evidently the housing these screens screw into has a chase surrounding the cross bored holes. There is no need to line up the hole with the pickup tubes. Torqued things down to 80#, the holes did not line up and everything worked.
Based on comments I've seen on this board, I expected to find up to a teaspoon of fillings on the transmission screen, I only had 2 specks about the size of a grain of sand. I cut open the hydro and transmission fitlers and found a little more material, much finer. So far, very impressed with the machine and the dealer. ....

thanx for the input. I'm at 23 hours, coming up on my 50 and would have been inthe sameboat as you re: lining up the holes. You probably just saved me a bunch of aggravation! PS The instructions say to rinse off the screen with a non flammable liquid. What did you use? ....
